Alaska
King Salmon fishing at its finest with your host, Dean
Roberts.
A
few words from Dean about the history of King of Kings Fishing:
I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to take over this fishing
business which was formerly Tim Hills Fishing for 25 years. Hillsy
is a great friend who generously invited me up to fish 8 years ago.
I have returned each summer since then to fish, talk some hoops,
laugh a lot and share great times together. In the summer of 2007
after a season of guiding for Hillsy on the Gulkana river, he offered
me the business. I hope it will work out for you to join me and
my friends and family for the king salmon fishing experience of
a lifetime.
FISHING
Fish on the world famous Gulkana River
in South Central Alaska. Truly one of the best King Salmon fisheries
in Alaska. Enjoy the untouched wilderness of Alaska as we float
down the river on rubber rafts and stop to drift fish from the bank
or shallow wading. All in pursuit of the famous Alaska King Salmon.
DATES
The
season runs from June 10th to July 15th. Most people schedule four
to five days of fishing, but there is no limit. As a general rule,
no fishing is scheduled on Saturdays, so plan your trip accordingly.
BAG
LIMIT
You are allowed one King Salmon per day and four for the season,
but may catch and release even after you have kept a fish for the
day. Our average fish weighs between 30 and 33 pounds! In 2007 we
made 55 trips down the Gulkana River and caught fish on 53 of those
trips.
